Air Seal: Achieving Net Zero

An air seal is a water seal and a pest control seal. This is the best insurance you can buy.
How we do what we do:
Our first step is to establish what air and vapour system is being employed. Once we have all of the data, we bring in the right product that will bond to those systems and will maintain your warranty. This is such an important step; the overall health of the building is on the line.
Furthermore, we are a second set of eyes on the job. We are in constant communication with your site team, and if any assembly is not proper, we always direct that up the chain of command.
Exterior Caulking
Why this matters:
Caulking seals a gap, this is its sole purpose. Where dissimilar materials meet, we want to seamlessly bridge the gap, in a manner that does not draw your eye to the caulking. The BEST compliment we can receive is that no one notices it was caulked. Caulking is not the lead singer in the band.

Interior Caulking
Imagine this: everything is done and you are walking through your work, admiring what your team has accomplished.
Then you see it. An unsightly gap where the bottom step meets the floor, or where the sliding door frames meet the hardwood, or where all of the beautiful stone work meets the wall and the team just couldn’t get the line scribed as perfectly as it should be.
This is where 181 can be the quiet hero and we love solving this problem. Our goal is to stay hidden and provide a clean transition so that your eyes are drawn to the features of the home, not the errors.
Bathrooms and Showers
Why this matters:
Imagine a beautiful tile shower that is absolutely perfect in assembly and aesthetic quality. Now imagine a hairline crack in the vertical grout lines at the corners. That hairline crack makes all of that hard work null and void as it no longer looks perfect, and water is getting behind the tile, causing havoc.
We eliminate that problem with a clean bead of caulking. Our products are sanitary grade, that deter mold and mildew. After everything is cleaned, we will scarify the smooth tile prior to application to ensure a strong bond.
